Martingale Betting System

The Martingale betting system is a negative progression betting system that is recommended for no limit tables and big bankrolls. This system is based on losing streaks and it is usually applied to even-money bets.

How the Martingale system works?

Every time you lose you double your previous bet and continue doing so until you win. The theory behind this is that when you do eventually win you will have covered your previous bets and have one chip or betting unit profit.

Although this system sounds infallible there are a few factors that could really spoil the system. The first factor is table lmits, as you can imagine always doubling your bet will reach the table limit soon, yup you loose. The next factor is the size of the bankroll that you require, you may find as no limit table but any serious losing streak will have you in cold sweats.

Martingale System Example:

1. You wager a $1 on the black at the roulette table. You loose first spin of this betting set.
2. You now double your losing bet to $2, once again you loose the next spin, you have now wagered a total of $3.
3. Once again you double your wager to $4 and loose on the next spin, you have now wagered a total of $7
4. The next spin you have to wager $8 and win $16. You are now a $1 in profit as you wagered a total of $15 ($1, $2, $4, $8).

The progressive betting soon climbs on a serious losing streak and most online casinos have a table limit of $300 which can be reached on a losing of streak of 9 losses. A losing streak of nine losses will not happen often but it will happen nonetheless and that will be one time to many foer this sytem.
