Online Casino Blackjack Tips

Blackjack Gambling Tip #1

Always hit your 16 against a dealer showing a 7.  Why? Computer similuations indicate that when you hit you you have an extra 7% chance of winning.

Blackjack Gambling Tip #2

Shoud I double down on an 11 with the dealer showing an Ace?  You should hit when playing with multiple decks and double down when playing with a single deck.  Why?  With a single deck you stand a chance of getting a decent card.  In a single deck game you have a two card 11, (let's just say this is the first hand on a cleanly shuffled deck), there will be 50 cards remaining, of which 16 or 32% of the deck is 10 value cards.  In a game with eight decks there will be 414 cards remaining of which 128 or 30.9% is ten value cards.

Blackjack Tip #3

Rather play at blackjack tables where the dealer stands on a soft 17. Whenn a dealer hits on a soft 17 the house gains an extra two-tenths of one percent advantage. With a soft 17 the dealers hand improves with a A,2,3,4 or stays the same with a 10,J,Q,K therefore 8 out of 13 cards either improve or keep the dealers hand the same.

Blackjack Tip #4

Do you use the never bust system? Change it you are wasting your money. The never bust system actually increases the house-edge by 5%. Using basic blackjack strategy you can cut the house edge to 0.5%.

Blackjack Tip #5

You should always hit your 15's and 16's against a dealers 17. Why? The chances of the dealer getting 17 or more when he has a 7, 8, 9, 10 or A is between 74% and 83% therefore basic strategy dictates that you should hit.

Blackjack Tip #6

Standing on a soft 18 is not a good idea, simulations show that for every one million hands of 18 that you receive you will lose 280 more hands than what you would win. Basic strategy dictates that you should hit a soft 18 when the dealer has the following cards, 9, Face card and a Ace. You shoud also double when the dealer has 3,4,5 and 6 showing.

Blackjack Tip #7

It is to your advantage if the dealer has to stand on a soft 17. When you play a game of blackjack where the dealer hits on a soft 17 the house gains an extra 2/10's of one percent.

Intelligent blackjack players always play in a casino that offers the best rules. To avoid argumentative playing conditions in blackjack, one should always look for the following grouping of rules that are favourable to the player:

  • multiple pair splitting allowed, plus re-splitting aces

  • a single deck game

  • deep deck penetration

  • double down allowed on any two cards

  • dealer stands on a soft 17

  • double down allowed after splitting pairs

  • surrender, both early and late

PROFESSIONAL TIPS

For hard hands, if the player's cards amount to 12 or higher…

  • Hit if the player hand totals 12 through 16 and the dealer has a 7 or higher.

  • Stand on any hand totaling 17 or higher.

  • Stand if the player cards total 12 through 16 and the dealer has 2 through 6.

For hard hands...

  • Double down when the player's cards total 10 and the dealer has a 9 or less.

  • Double down when the player's cards total 11 and the dealer has a 10 or less.

  • Double down when the player's cards total nine and the dealer has a four, five or six.

For soft hands...

  • Double down with a soft 13 and soft 14 when the dealer has a 5 or 6.

  • Double down with a soft 17 and soft 18 when the dealer has 3 through 6.

  • Double down with a soft 15 and soft 16 when the dealer has a 4, 5 or 6.

  • Only draw on soft 18 if the dealer has an 8, 9 or 10. Doubling down is the main method by which a player can eradicate the house edge so it is very essential to remember when to utilize this option.

  • Always draw to soft 17 or less.

One should double down when you have….

  • A count of 10 and the dealer's card is anything but a 10.

  • A count of 9 and the dealer's card is between 2 to 8.

  • A count of 11, do not vacillate if the dealer has a 10 or Ace showing.

  • Soft 13, 14, 15, 16, (Ace and 2, 3, 4, 5) and the dealer has a 6 showing.

Splitting Pairs when…

  • Never split fours, fives or tens.

  • Always split a pair of aces or eights. A pair of aces totals either two or twelve although when you split them each card is worth eleven. When you split eights you are breaking up 16 which is the worst hand to have.

  • Split twos and threes only when the dealer has four through seven.

  • Split sixes when the dealer has three through six.

  • Split sevens when the dealer has three through seven.

  • Split nines when the dealer has two through six, eight or nine.

SOME TIPS ONE SHOULD TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION

  • Only surrender when it is necessary!

  • Always play at a table, which offers the best advantages conditions!

  • Never take insurance, unless you’re counting cards!
